1900 - 1924 The marks are rubbed but the shape of the cartouche is clear which gives this wide date period. Because of the style of the decanters they are much more likely to be the later part of this period. Finding really good Art Deco decanters is a rare event, finding a matched pair is a very rare event. These Decanters have such an amazing complex pattern. Double cut elongated oval lenses have been arranged in a stunning geometric pattern forming circles which frame'squares' with curved sides. The'squares' have been overlayed with deep horizontal and vertical bands. The consistent quality of this cutting over such a large area and in the round is staggeringly good.

Consider that the lenses have to change size to accomodate the curvature of the the body on the vertical line and form an all round pattern which'meets' without a join - I can not even begin to imagine how such superb precision has been achieved. This is an unsigned set and based on the cut and quality I have attributed this set to Irene Stevens at Webb Corbett.

I would love to hear from you if you have a signed piece in this pattern. These Decanters are in excellent condition with a few minor signs of use commensurate with age. There are no chips or cracks with the exception of a few barely perceptable tiny surface bruises and scratches.

There is a tiny degree of cloudiness to the base of one decanter and a little more cloudiness to the base of the second. The silver mounts are in good order with minor wear commensurate with age.
