St. Louis Moser Crystal Haida Twist Stem Wine Hock Glass Gold Ruby Signed HTF
Item : Unique Hock Wine Glass. Louis and Moser had business relations during the time these twist stems were made. So both companies made or decorated hock wines with variations on this particular twist stem. Most from the early 20th century are not marked. However, bases on the bottom of pieces from this pattern in my possession are marked/signed by the artist of the goblet design. Some companies bought just the undecorated stemware from Moser, Baccarat and St. Probably a custom design or at least limitedly produced and made for a particular high-end retailer. They look inspired by similarly timed pieces made in Haida, Bohemia. Gold enamel work, with a neat ruby staining. I have just found a few at a special estate sale and they may be the only ones left.
Fine crystal, comparable to Baccarat - the goblet rings like a bell when pinged. No chips, cracks, repairs, or signs of wear. Measures : 6 1/2" tall, 2 1/4" across top, and 2 3/8 across the base. West of the Mississipi and then West Coast rates are progressively higher.
