What a find - these 8 lovely Roemer wine glasses, covered in dust in the back of a china cabinet at a local estate, and apparently not used for years, and very minimally so before then. The more I handle these, the more I wish I knew more about their provenance.
They are crystal, the edges "sang" brightly as I wiped them after cleaning. 6 tall, there are 6 flower dotted prunts around the stem, and the stem itself is beehive shaped with progressive ribs. The color is green, but sort of a subtle, light olive color with taupe undertones. The opening is 2 3/4" across, and the bowl flares a bit to be 3" in diameter. The base is 3 in diameter.
Each glass weighs 11.3 ounces, they are substantial, yet very pleasing in the hand to handle. Each of the 8 glasses in this set is in excellent condition; minor signs of use here and there only. One glass has the tiniest rough mark or fleabite on the rim. Please see all pictures for condition and details. These items will be carefully double-boxed and packed.
